The first Mint Nail and Beauty Bar opened in Meadowhall in Sheffield in 2001. It was built on the firm foundations and trading principles the owner and Director, Kathryn Wood, had laid down from experience gained throughout her previous 15 years, as proprietor of the successful and well established "The Beauty Rooms" in Wakefield.
The second Mint followed in November 2003, opening on Boar Lane in central Leeds, and a Mint Nail Bar was opened within The Beauty Rooms in central Wakefield in August 2004. Further sites were soon added in the White Rose Centre Leeds, and at the Merry Hill Centre in the West Midlands. New locations are being investigated currently for a sixth Mint salon.
The Mint Concept came about through extensive market research carried out by Kathryn. She found that people with busy lives were looking for nail care and beauty treatments, at a convenient time and place to fit in with their lifestyle. They also wanted quality treatments in a quality environment, while being offered prices that made the treatements affordable as a regular part of their monthly routine - not just as a one-off treat. This service is what Mint offers.
